Zero Downtime
We carefully plan and execute migrations to ensure your website stays online throughout the process.
Data Security
Your data is handled with the highest security standards. We use encrypted transfers and secure protocols.

How It Works
Submit Your Request
Fill out the migration request form below with your current hosting details. Include any special requirements or concerns.
We Review & Plan
Our team reviews your request and creates a detailed migration plan. We'll contact you to confirm the schedule and any specifics.
Migration Begins
We copy all your files, databases, and emails to our servers. Everything is verified for integrity and functionality.
Testing & DNS Update
We thoroughly test your website on our servers. Once confirmed, we guide you through updating your DNS records.
You're Live!
Your website is now running on EGPHP's fast Nginx infrastructure. We monitor everything to ensure smooth operation.
The runbook behind a safe site move
Moving a live site is a sequence of small steps that can each be undone. This is the order that keeps a site online while it changes servers.
This is the general practice for moving any site between hosts, taken from public DNS and hosting documentation. What EGPHP does for you is described in the five steps above: the team copies your data, tests it on its own servers and guides you through the DNS update.
-
Audit what runs on the old host
List the websites, databases, mailboxes, scheduled tasks, certificates and DNS records, and note the PHP version and any custom settings. What is not on the list is easy to forget and hard to notice later.
-
Lower the DNS TTL early
The TTL is how long resolvers may keep a record in their cache. Turn it down to a few minutes and wait at least as long as the old value, because until then caches still hold the old one.
-
Copy files, databases and mail
Copy the files, export the databases and move the mailboxes as a separate job. While the old host stays live, copy once more just before the switch so the two copies do not drift apart.
-
Test on a temporary hostname
Open the copy on the new server without touching public DNS: a temporary address if the host offers one, or a line in the hosts file of your own computer that points the domain at the new server for you alone. Check pages, forms, logins, uploads and outgoing mail.
-
Cut over
Change the records where your nameservers are managed: the address records for the site, and the mail records only if mail moves too. With a short TTL, visitors follow the new address quickly.
-
Verify
Check the site over HTTPS, the certificate, forms, a test email sent and received, and the output of scheduled tasks. Watch the logs on both hosts to see who still reaches the old one.
-
Keep the old host until confirmed
Do not close the old account the same day: some resolvers still hold the old address until their cache expires. Keep it until traffic there has stopped and everything is confirmed, then raise the TTL back to a longer value.
Sources for the method: Amazon Route 53 - TTL, RFC 1912, Hypernode - hosts file.
What We Migrate
What moves and what needs your input
Each group shows what the migration covers and what is worth having ready before you send the request. Tap a group to open it.
Website and WordPress
What moves
- Website Files
- WordPress Sites
What to have ready
- The website address and the name of your current host, the two details the request form asks for first.
- Anything unusual about the site, such as a custom PHP version or a plugin that must stay as it is. The form has a notes field for this.
Databases
What moves
- MySQL Databases
What to have ready
- A form option that includes the database, so that it is part of the plan.
- The configuration file of a site names its database, user and password, so these settings have to be updated on the new server for the site to connect.
What moves
- Email Accounts
- Email Archives
What to have ready
- A form option that includes email. Mail is a separate part of a move from the website itself.
- Mail delivery follows the MX records of the domain, so these are best switched only after the mailboxes on the new server are ready.
DNS and certificates
What moves
- DNS Records
- SSL Certificates
What to have ready
- Access to the place where your domain DNS is managed. The steps above end with your DNS update, and the team guides you through it.
- A copy of your current DNS records, written down before any change, so that anything can be put back.
Scheduled tasks
What moves
- Cron Jobs
What to have ready
- A cron job often holds a file path or a web address of the old host. Note any that do, because paths differ between servers.
