What is Email Forwarding?
Email forwarding automatically sends a copy of incoming emails to another address. For example, forward info@yourdomain.com to your personal Gmail account.
Creating a Forwarder
Go to Email in EGPNL
Log in and navigate to Email → Forwarders.
Click Add Forwarder
Click the Add Forwarder or Create Forwarder button.
Enter Source Address
Enter the email address to forward FROM (e.g., info for info@yourdomain.com).
Enter Destination
Enter the email address to forward TO (e.g., your personal email).
Save
Click Create or Save. The forwarder is now active!
Types of Forwarding
Forward Only
Emails are forwarded to another address. No local copy is kept. The source address doesn't need to exist as a mailbox.
Forward and Keep Copy
Emails are forwarded AND kept in the original mailbox. The source address must exist as an email account.
sales@ to multiple team members so everyone receives inquiries simultaneously.
Forward to Multiple Addresses
To forward to multiple destinations:
- Create the first forwarder as usual
- Create additional forwarders with the same source
- Each destination receives a copy
Catch-All Forwarding
A catch-all forwards all emails sent to non-existent addresses on your domain:
- Go to Email → Forwarders
- Create a forwarder with
*as the source - Enter your destination email
- Save the forwarder
Managing Forwarders
Edit a Forwarder
- Go to Forwarders in EGPNL
- Find the forwarder
- Click Edit
- Change destination and save
Delete a Forwarder
- Go to Forwarders in EGPNL
- Find the forwarder
- Click Delete
- Confirm deletion
Common Uses
- Consolidation: Forward multiple addresses to one inbox
- Team Distribution: Forward
support@to all support staff - Backup: Keep copies of important emails in another account
- Transition: Forward old email to new address during migration
